“Our goal is to positively affect people’s lives through creating unique and inspiring places for living.”
— Russell King, Architect
King Residential Design Inc. is an award winning residential Design/Build Architecture firm, offering Architecture services; Professional Construction services; and Interior Design services. Russell King, Architect, and Margaret Anne (Margie) King, ASID Allied, a licensed Interior Designer, have been designing and building some of Houston’s finest custom homes for over 35 years.
KRDI’s staff includes some of Houston’s most highly skilled and experienced architects, Interior Designers, and construction personnel. They are guided by the belief that fine home building is the most personal, complex, diverse, and sensitive type of construction.
KRDI’s reputation for creating fine custom homes is due to the firm’s respect for architectural design, high construction standards, attention to detail, and professional construction management procedures.
KRDI provides the highest level of professional services in all aspects of the design and construction process to create truly distinctive, high quality, custom homes, developed totally around the client’s desires. During the design phase, the architect, interior designer and client work together as a team. A program is developed considering the client’s expectations and budget. The architectural design evolves using state of the art three dimensional computer programs. The client can experience their new home through a three dimensional virtual tour of the interior and exterior of the home. This way the architect and client are confident the design meets their expectations. During the Preliminary Design Phase, Design Development Phase, and Construction Documents phase, cost estimates are developed to make sure the design remains in budget. If revisions are necessary, they are accomplished during the design of the home rather than during construction. This extensive design process reduces costly construction Change Orders, one of the main reasons for projects exceeding budgets.
This close collaboration between architect and client continues during the construction phase by implementing an all-inclusive construction management system featuring comprehensive client involvement. The objective is to allow the client to make timely and informed decisions during the construction of their new home. Extensive bidding of major construction categories assures the client that they are receiving high quality materials and workmanship at competitive prices. The KRDI architect, interior designer, and construction personnel work together as a team throughout the construction process to assure continuity and a smooth construction process.
Russell and Margie King are involved on a daily basis with each project. They remain in direct contact with the clients throughout the design and construction process. Russell King limits the number of projects undertaken by KRDI at any one time in order to remain true to his commitment of personal involvement in every project. . There simply are no shortcuts in providing the necessary personal attention to each client and their project in order to meet client expectations. This is an extraordinary commitment as compared to most homebuilders who will take on any number of projects and simply turn them over to “construction managers” who essentially become the builder
KRDI designs and builds single family residences from 4,000 to 25,000 sq. ft. in the Memorial Villages, River Oaks, Tanglewood, Royal Oaks, Southhampton, West University, Carltonwoods in The Woodlands, Walden on Lake Conroe, Clear Lake City, and on properties throughout the Houston/Gulf coast area.
KRDI also offers architectural, interior design, and construction services independently of each other. The firm will build projects designed by other architects. Also, KRDI will perform architectural and/or interior design services for clients who have a preferred contractor.
